Finding You

I'm a very strong believer in doing you and doing you well. There is no one on the Earth who can be a better me and there is no way that I could pull off being you even half as well. We are each exactly who we were always meant to be. So why try to hide it? Why even try to be a second best anyone else when you are the very best you?! I mean, by default, we are all the best. C'mon people, we are being handed the trophy, the gold medal, the game ball. Are you gonna turn that down? No!

There is so much inside of us. There are so many intricacies, so many beliefs, fundamental thoughts and persuasions, personality traits, ideas, experiences, subconscious desires, viewpoints, individual elements that make each of us who we are. I am constantly amazed every day by what makes each of us, us. With so much there, so much to explore and understand, how could anyone get bored with just...thinking? I'm at a loss. 

But I digress.

We are weird. We are random. And someone, some day, somewhere, will love us because we are weird, because we are random. Someone will love you because you want just as much frosting on your cupcake as there is cake. Someone will love you because you have to sleep with a light on in case there is something scary hidden in the dark. There's someone out there who will love you because you analyze and over-analyze everything, somehow finding philosophical depth in something as worthless as pouring a soda. Someone is going to come along who will love you because of how animated you get talking about your passions. There is someone out there who will love everything about you, especially the weird parts. 

Are you going to let fear of standing out and standing tall keep you from finding love? More importantly, are you going to deprive yourself and everyone and anyone else from discovering and loving the true you? What could be more fulfilling?

Don't hide who you are. Don't be a chameleon, changing your colors simply so no one notices how spectacular you truly are. How dare you hide such a work of art. Be weird, be random. It will bring you the most joy in the end. 

That's my philosophy in life anyway :)
