Kayla and I are awesome.

And I will tell you why. Basically, we are crazy together. You all may have your own opinions about weird I am, but when I'm with her, man are we hilarious. We should have a sitcom, I'm not even kidding. Lavern and Shirley remake, I think so!

Whenever she comes over to see me, we always end of doing some sort of art project. As my friend so eloquently put it, we are the "poster children for pinterest". I take great pride in that title! This last time, Kayla and I were looking for something to do and we decided we wanted to paint something, but we couldn't find any paint, let alone anything to paint. But I texted my gramma to see if she had any paint in the first place or if we should just give up. She didn't respond for an eon and by the time she did we had already gotten in the car and been in and out of Michael's. I'd like to take a moment to say that I managed to get us there without getting lost, without looking up directions, without calling my grandparents and without crying. You may applaud, if you so wish.

And then we painted birdhouses. Yes, we did.

How did we land on this marvelous project you might ask? Well, I'll tell you: we saw the birdhouses, I said let's   paint birdhouses, she said okay and that was the end of it! I mean, c'mon, the birdhouses were on sale for FOUR DOLLARS (aw yeah!) and the paint was on sale too! It was like Fate had aligned everything because it wanted us to make homes for the hobo birds. We are kind souls, yes you don't have to tell us ;)

And so we picked out our colors, picked which birdhouse we wanted (turns out it was the same one haha) and then drove home! My gramma calls me as we are driving back and her opening line is "you two together are starting to scare me". Mwahahaha! Little did she know we were about to take over her garage with our birdhouse production agency :) Luckily she loves birdhouses so she wasn't even concerned about the whole thing, she was just excited as all get out!

Keep in mind, it was like nine at night when we got home from Michael's, and we wanted to start painting them that night. But we decided it would be good to prime them first. BAD IDEA. It took three hours to prime those suckers. By the end of it, I was slapping paint on their without a care in the world, not even looking at where I was putting it because I was bleary eyed and ready for bed. But we finally finished, we left everything exactly where it was and we dragged ourselves off to the basement.

This morning, we got up, ate breakfast and then went out and painted. We didn't even get dressed! And we didn't until three o' clock. But our birdhouses turned out fabulously! For future reference though, this project is not for those who suffer from OCD, who are perfectionists or who are very detail oriented (or all three like a certain person that I am very familiar with because I have been living with her for almost 19 years... That's me, for those who missed it). But it was fun!

Mine is the "wine" (it looks brown but it's actually this purpley red, it's gorgeous) and yellow one and Kayla's is the one that looks like a Barbie dollhouse from the 90's :) Mine turned out to be Gryffindor colors, and I didn't even do that on purpose! I should have put the house crest on the roof, that would have been legit! haha

I can't wait to see what our next project is :)
