May the Fourth Be With You!

Today was a pretty great day, but I'm exhausted and I need to go to sleep so this won't be very long.

Let's start with my job interview because that is really where my day started (pretty pathetic, seeing as it wasn't till one o'clock haha). I got a call while I was at work on Thursday to see if I could come in for a "group interview", whatever that means, the next day. I was in a room by myself with a bunch of kids that I had never been with before, trying to do a routine that I hadn't been taught yet, when my phone starts ringing and I have to answer it in the middle of changing a diaper. THAT was a fun half hour. I had to go to the front desk with my tail between my legs asking for the day off the next day for "personal business". I felt bad that I was asking so late in the game, but it was the soonest I could ask because I didn't know about it earlier! But they gave it to me and I was very grateful.

So I went to the interview today. It was for another daycare job, but this place is more like a babysitting service than a daycare because there is no structure. The kids come and go, and they aren't regular (like they come every day), so it will be fun. All play, no work really!

The thing about this interview though is that it was a group interview. This basically means that the 15 of us that were there to be interviewed, whether it was for the daycare position, manager positions, sales positions or whatever else, all sat in a circle and were interviewed at the same time. Yeah, if you are thinking that it sounds like a support group, you are right. We were in a ring of chairs, in a completely empty room with mirrors on all the walls. I just wanted to stand up and say "I'm Amanda and I've been sober for almost 19 years" and have them all clap for me as I give a little bow and grin from ear to ear. You know the scene I'm talking about, don't deny it. You can see it as clear in your head as I can :P

I don't really know how well the interview went... It's hard to tell when it isn't one on one. But as soon as Monday I will hear back from them whether they want me to come in for another interview or if they are "grateful for my time" but not what they are looking for. We'll have to see!

The whole thing is just rather odd I think.

Later, my grandparents and I went to dinner and to see Mirror Mirror. It was a super great night. And let me tell you: Mirror Mirror is rather entertaining. I was laughing pretty hard at some points. The dwarves are HILARIOUS. They were the best part, let's be honest. I'm pretty sure half of what they said was not scripted, which is what made it twice as funny. They are great :)

All in all, I would say this day was down-right decent in every way, shape and form. I'm grateful for days like this, when everything just goes smoothly.

The Fourth was definitely with me today!! And tomorrow? REVENGE OF THE FIFTH! Hopefully that means it will be even better than today! I can't even imagine what tomorrow will bring if that's true hahaha
