HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!

I am so proud to be an American. Honestly, having lived out of this country, I know what it is like to be anywhere else, and it is NOTHING compared to this blessed country. There are so many freedoms, conveniences and wonderful things that we take for granted that people all over the world manage without. But I am so grateful that I can partake in those. I am so grateful that I can go to Walmart whenever I want to, that pretty much anything and everything is available right at my fingertips, that there are traffic laws that people actually obey, that a language is spoken here that I understand. I'm grateful that I have the freedom to say what I think, live my own life, and most especially: belong to whichever religion I choose. America is wonderful!

And I am eternally grateful for those who fought for our freedom, and those who are still fighting. They are heroes in every sense of the word and their lives are what we should be celebrating this day. The birth of our country, the lives of its people and soldiers and the freedom that we all share.

Also, even though I've sang it a bazillion times, I'm rather fond of our National Anthem - though some people tend to over do it sometimes...

It's still pretty great. I love this country! Happy Independence Day!!
